  No Reservation - it's a problem. My family and I have tried to go to this restaurant on two different occasions. The first was around Christmas, so their dinning room was full. It was understandable at the time. We ended up having to sit on the patio, which was extremely uncomfortable because the wind was blowing and it was pretty chilly. But we dealt with it. The second time, the dinning room was not crowded at all, but because we didn't have reservations, we were ushered to the back bar where the only seating available is high, bar type metal stools. So extremely uncomfortable!! By the time we left, I had leg cramps from trying to stay on the stool without sliding off. The food is ok, but not worth the price they charge. I could go to a nice steak house, spend the same money and have a much better experience. Seems this place is more about atmosphere then it is about having happy and satisfied customers.

  Excellent restaurant for food, atmosphere and the bathrooms. Recently went on a Sunday for brunch. Recommend going before noon to beat the crowd. Our table ordered the Traditional Eggs Benedict with Cheese Grits, Chicken Biscuits, Chicken and Waffles, and a scrambler. All were nice size portions with the exception being the Eggs Benedict. We also noticed several orders of both chicken and waffles an the fried chicken sandwich variants being taken to tables. Most entrees averaged around $8 to $10. Bottomless mimosas and poinsettias were $12.
  
  A wide variety of guest were having brunch around us. It was neither loud and rowdy nor whispering quiet. The restaurant is also well decorated and mason jars are used for everything. As far as the restrooms go, the men's had a fancy baby changing table and diaper pail! As a Dad, I would definitely return knowing that I would have a place to change my child. Also, the Dyson sink faucet rinses your hands and also dries them with blast of air. Neat, techy feature. Lastly, at the bottom of the bathroom door is a bronze, door pull for your foot to the door without touching the door with your hands. The little things really elevate South Kitchen & Spirits above others.

  This was the first time my sister and I visited. It will be the last. I would not recommend the "Chef Salad". The so called pulled "rotisserie chicken" was mushy like it had been packed in water and from a can and had a funny taste. The "country ham" was so thin there was no taste. And for $12.95 I expected a larger salad then a side salad. The cutesy buckets everything is in put on your table were a little much. We were so disappointed from the "hype" we had been hearing. I'm ashamed to be giving it one star.
