  All was amazing except out snooty ass server Tabitha.. Both The hostess were very nice.. The food was delicious.

  I was given a gift card and decided to have a mommy/son date night. The Capital Grille is somewhere I experienced much more frequently in a former life; before becoming a single mom so I thought this was a very unique opportunity to splurge. The reservation process was easy but I called to see if we needed a reservation to sit at the bar and if my son was welcome in that area.
  
  I realize the typical bill and did not want to impede on a server earning much more than what our small party would offer. Plus, let's be real, I wasn't sure if my son would wow me with his manners or knock everything off the table while colorfully telling the story of how a WWII gun got its name. I'll just say, he was a perfect gentleman.
  
  The host staff was great. Our server started off great but there were huge gaps in her checking in. We ran out of water in our glasses, my son's burger wasn't dressed as ordered and I eventually had to ask a hostess to retrieve our waitress to pay our bill. I know we probably aren't the typical Sunday visitor to the establishment but I really feel it should have not felt that way. Our server actually never used the fun little crumb scraper after my son tried each of the breads. I said I used to be able to afford such places, right? The night was great overall but the dinner service left something to be desired. I'm not saying they should cater to parties like ours but how else does one expose their child to such things without actually doing it?

  One of the very best of Jacksonville, Capital Grille's service and quality are top notch. My husband and I came here for Valentine's Day weekend dessert, after dining at a nearby restaurant known for their "fresh" and lower calorie fare. Well, the contrast of quality and service after leaving that restaurant were truly striking. Capital Grille makes almost any of the other restaurants in the area pale in comparison. The manager himself served my husband and I, and was so kind and personable. The dessert tray is to die for (maybe that is dramatic but, oh my gosh, it is up there in life experiences you must have before you die). It includes their classic flourless chocolate espresso cake, their brûlée topped cheesecake, and the delectable coconut cream pie. Wow. And all with a smile, impeccable service, and highest of class atmosphere. We will certainly be returning.
